Feel the Fear and Do IT Anyway

Many of us believe that we’re unable to change our circumstances. We’ll say things like, “oh, that’s the way it is.” “I have no choice [insert countless reasons].”

Though some of those reasons may seem valid, what if you challenged your beliefs? No one can really be certain that they are too old, alone or can’t afford to change their circumstances without ever attempting.

Sure the few times you’ve attempted to make changes, you were let down, experienced set backs, failure, heartache or conflict with family, boss or partner.

So why bother, right?

But the only reason your beliefs and fears seem real is because your reality has continuously proven them to be truth.

The past can only dictate your future if you keep giving it permission.

That was then, what about now?

Not only can you change your beliefs, you can also change your not so ideal circumstance.

We tend to accept things as they are and take a passive role in our lives because we’re so afraid of making changes.

I get it!

I spent most of my life comfortable in the discomfort because I “thought” forcing life to happen all on my terms meant I was in control.

Not so!

The goals I strived to achieve would eventually fall apart, leaving me to pick up the pieces afterwards—it was the Universe’s way of reminding me that she always had the final say!

This happened enough times for me to realize that my way wasn’t working. But never one to give up easily I decided to learn another way and question those core-limiting beliefs and fears.

Each time I challenged them I created new beliefs via positive affirmations and positive SELF-talk.

Not only did my not so ideal circumstances shift, I gained the confidence to make choices that were right for me and to trust the process. Instead of playing a passive role in my life, I became an active participant in my life.

If you recall the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz when he, Dorothy and the others followed the yellow brick road to meet the Wizard, he frequently confronted his fears.

He didn’t understand that courage meant facing the fear and doing it anyway. He learned to confront his fear and stand up for himself by trial and error.

No matter where you are on the journey, we are always going to feel afraid or make mistakes or not get things “right” or “perfect.” This is how we learn and grow so we can evolve into the greatest expression of ourselves.

So if you’re on the sidelines waiting for life to happen or for things to change, it all begins with SELF. Only you have the power to change your circumstances.

It takes the same amount of energy to focus on the negative as it does for the positive.

What if you anticipated the best case scenario instead of the worst case scenario?

You are meant to live, thrive and shine your light.

So stop dimming your light to please others or worrying about what others think of you.

What matters is what you think and believe!

When the Cowardly Lion does meet the Wizard, he discovered that he didn't need the Wizard to give him courage—he had it all along.

You have courage too!

As you take one small step on your path, you’ll be provided for, taught the lessons you need to learn and guided along the path that is right for you and just like Dorothy, you’re never alone on your journey.

What can you do today to bring you one step closer to changing your circumstance?
